Ascension Lutheran Church offers some wonderful music during our services. We have a lovely choir which is led by Alix Jenkins, our Choir Director. She has also implemented the handbell ringers at Ascension which has been a beautiful asset to our services. Alix is an accomplished piano and organ player as well as beautiful singer. Sometimes Pastor Dave will grace with us his playing of the piano or even pick up his trumpet during a service.
Choir rehearses regularly on Sundays after church, 11:50 am. Sunday handbell rehearsal starting at 6:15 pm.
Ascension Lutheran Church has a love and passion for music and you can see that each service.
This page will not only feature our choir and handbell ringers, but it will also highlight performances, concerts, and more that occur around our area.
Click here for the upcoming Lansing Matinee Musicale Program here at Ascension. Lansing Matinee Musicale (LMM) is a non-profit organization with the purpose to encourage, develop, and maintain high musical and artistic standards of American music and musicians. Besides our monthly LMM programs, we have a junior club called the Performing Arts Students (PAS) that meets once a month from October to April (with the exception of December). We have an awards program at different levels: middle school, high school and collegiate/professional. Many of our members do Music Outreach programs in nursing homes and retirement communities. We hope you get to know us better and we get to know you, also.
