Mission of Ascension Lutheran Church: Growing Disciples of Jesus
Core Beliefs

The Bible is the Word of God, and teaches us how to receive the free gift of salvation from sin and about Christian living. The Lutheran Confessions (doctrinal writings of the Reformation) explain how we understand scripture.

God commissioned us and all of his followers to make disciples of all nations. It is not optional.

We place ourselves into God’s loving hands as willing instruments of His mission.

We aim to speak the Word of God to each other to nurture, edify and educate one another in Christian faith as we live out our Christian life. We are Christ’s mission to the whole person, being concerned for both the spiritual and physical needs of people.

At Ascension Lutheran Church, people of all ages worship together, actively glorifying God with Music of prayer and praise. Worshipers receive the grace of God delivered by the pastor through the Word and Sacraments. While liturgical in style, modified forms of worship are utilized as the complexion of the congregation changes.

By actively participating in a variety of learning opportunities, people of all ages are growing and living daily according to God’s Word. (2 Timothy 3:16)

We are dedicated to taking Jesus to the people in our community and beyond. We regularly invite people to join us in worship and other activities. Our church is known as a place of welcome for children, youth and adults. In every activity or event, visitors are greeted warmly.

We reflect God’s love as we share it and live with the people we encounter every day, building relationships through activities and mutual encouragement.

We use our spiritual gifts and material blessings to serve one another in the name of Jesus and to touch the lives of those in need with the love of Jesus freely given through care and encouragement.
